How should BIGHORN meals be prepared?
Our meals couldn’t be easier to prepare, whether you’re out in the wilderness or enjoying one at home!
Simply remove the oxygen absorber before adding the correct quantity of rapidly boiling water. Give everything a good stir, reseal the pouch and wait. Once the suggested period of time has passed, give another good stir and feast on!
Precise instructions showing the correct quantity of water to use and time to wait before eating are shown on the back of each meal pouch.
What’s the shelf-life of BIGHORN meals?
Our meals currently have a best-before date of two years. This date is printed on the back of each pouch, and it means you can be confident that you’ll enjoy a safe, great-tasting meal at any time before the best-before date.
As a new product, our meals are currently undergoing long-term shelf testing, which, as the name suggests, takes some time! We expect those tests to allow us to substantially extend the best-before date, but for now we recommend adhering to the date printed on the pouch.
Do BIGHORN meals contain allergens?
Yes, each of our meals contains at least one of the major food allergens identified by the FDA, most often wheat, milk or soy. Our Bourbon BBQ Pulled Pork & Beans also contains mustard, which is considered an allergen by Canada.
Specific ingredients and allergens are detailed in the Nutrition Facts Panel on the back of each pouch, so if you know or believe yourself to be allergic you should review this carefully before purchase or use.
Is BIGHORN packaging recyclable?
Promoting wilderness exploration is our core mission, underpinned by a commitment to environmental stewardship. Embracing the principles of Leave No Trace, we advocate responsible practices like "pack it in, pack it out."
We work with TerraCycle ® to make it easy for our customers to recycle their BIGHORN MF packaging, reducing waste, and preserving our natural landscapes.

How does the BIGHORN Rewards plan work?
